Thank you for your support!
Thank you so much for supporting uncompensated care for pediatric cancer patients' trials at Seattle Children's Hospital.
Seattle Children’s is internationally known for developing better ways to care for young people with cancers or blood disorders. One of these ways is providing access to clinical trials. Clinical trials are research studies that test whether a new medicine, device or treatment is safe and effective. Many children with cancer and blood disorders come to Seattle Children's from all over the world to take part in research studies of new options that are available only through clinical trials.
In the last couple of years, Seattle Children’s has utilized $4.3M of uncompensated care for cancer clinical trials to fully fund 17 different patients seeking oncology care uniquely available through Seattle Children’s clinical trials. These patients were from Canada, India, Mexico and many US states including Missouri, Alabama, Indiana, Oregon, Florida, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Utah, Arizona and California.
In addition, Seattle Children’s was able to utilize these funds to pay for pathology testing or a telehealth consult to assess whether patients were candidates for participation in clinical trials while we pursued authorization with the patient’s insurance or funding source. $40,000 in funding was used for pathology review and telehealth consults for 72 different patients from Mexico, Israel, UK and many US states.
Your support is vital to help kids and families worldwide, and support the mission of Seattle Children’s – hope, care and cures. Thank you for your donation!
